Green tech and utilities
Our experience
We’re in a climate crisis – and know technology holds some of the answers we need to big environmental challenges. Our work with clients in green energy and utilities looks to make positive impact on the environment and wider society. We continue to build our knowledge and expertise, driven by our desire to make a positive difference.
Energy experience
Opencast worked with Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult, the UK’s leading technology research centre for offshore renewable energy, helping to build the world’s first wind turbine data analytics platform. We developed a suite of web-based tools to help wind farm owners and operators globally to improve performance and reliability, while driving down the cost of operations and maintenance.
Utilities innovation
We're playing a key role in a revolutionary new ‘smart sewer’ approach to tackling discharges from storm overflows, working with Northumbrian Water Group on a ground-breaking project to significantly reduce discharges. This UK first combines new tech, sensors and AI analytics to lower the risk of overflows.
User focus
Our team has worked hands on in enhancing the electronic vehicle (EV) user experience. Working with Mer UK, the UK’s largest EV charge point provider (owned by Statkraft, Europe’s largest renewable energy producer) our team developed critical infrastructure to enable intelligent smart charging. Our approach to digital delivery dramatically improved the user experience of EV charging across the UK.
Our team brings expertise from across the energy and renewable sectors having worked at organisations such as Shell, Utilita Energy, nPower, Verco, and Engie. Our consultants bring a wealth of domain knowledge that spans across all our services.
