Why work for Opencast?
What makes the ideal job? For most people, it’s a balance between interesting and impactful work, a supportive environment, great colleagues, a fair salary, progression opportunities and excellent benefits. We recognise that these are all important.
Making an impact
Our work at the heart of UK government, healthcare and innovative business support for critical systems and services which help for millions of people. By joining us you’ll help deliver improved digital experiences and responsible approaches to emerging technology – either directly in your work as a consultant or by supporting our business through your work in core company functions.
We believe what we do matters and can have a positive impact on society. Many of the solutions we create are used by millions of people each day, whether that’s improving the accuracy of prescription drug information for the country’s pharmacies, making the UK tax system easier to navigate or looking at ways to improve the usability of the NHS app.
We also offer opportunities for our people to work on pro-bono and low bono client projects with non-profits and other impactful organisations. All of this is underpinned by our commitment to being a purpose-driven business, demonstrated by our B Corp certification.

JEDI lies at the heart of what we do as a business. We’re focused on creating a workplace where all identities, attributes, ways of thinking and backgrounds can succeed and thrive.

We want to ensure that the diversity of our people reflects the population as a whole, so we can deliver solutions that create a fairer society for all.
Our people get a voice, both through communication and feedback opportunities but also via Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). These groups allow our people shape how we change as a business, to elevate minority voices into the spotlight and to bring people together who have shared experiences.

Development and progression
We offer support for you every step of your career to help you achieve your potential.
Throughout your time at Opencast, you’ll have regular conversations about your development, and we’ll support you as you work on creating your Professional Development Plan (PDP).
Opencast has used the Skillsbuilder Universal Framework to identify the Essential Skills that apply across all roles and levels, while technical skills frameworks and playbooks specific to each team and role are there to provide you with the knowledge you need to thrive. This means you’ll have a clear framework to gauge how you are developing and growing in your role.
Development is ongoing throughout the year, and we have formal progression points twice a year to consider whether someone is ready to step into a more senior role.
We provide access to funding for your individual learning requirements and all our permanent people have access to LinkedIn Learning. There are also workshops, communities, coaching, mentoring and wider resources available to foster continuous growth and development.
