How can employers raise standards and drive inclusive growth?

Hosted by Opencast, this employer-led Living Wage Week event will bring businesses and public sector partners together to explore the practical role employers can play through pay, pensions and procurement.

This year marks 25 years of the Living Wage movement, with almost 17,000 UK employers now signed up to guarantee their people a decent standard of living.

On the day, we'll be joined by Cllr Colin Ferguson, Leader of Newcastle City Council, to look at how employers and the city can work together to support good jobs, economic growth and a more inclusive Newcastle.

The conversation will look beyond paying the real Living Wage. We'll explore how employers can go further through initiatives such as the Living Pension, and how procurement and supply chains can extend their influence to people they do not directly employ.

We'll hear from employers already taking practical steps, share experience of what works, and consider how businesses, public bodies and other organisations can use their influence to help raise standards across Newcastle.

Come ready to share experience, make connections and consider your organisation's next step!
