It offers the chance to shape our physical environments, strengthen health & safety, and improve the everyday experience for employees and visitors across the organisation. Reporting to theDirector of IT and Operations, this role combines strategic influence with practical impact, in a supportive and people‑first culture. That work relies on workplaces that are safe, welcoming and run with care. This position brings together workplace operations, health & safety, supplier management and team leadership. It offers real responsibility, clear ownership and the opportunity to continuously improve how Opencast operates day to day. The role also provides the chance to lead a small workplace team and act as a trusted operational partner to people across the business.   What the role offers Workplace experience The opportunity to influence how Opencast workplaces look, feel and function. Creating environments that are welcoming, efficient and well supported across multiple locations, from onboarding through to internal events and day‑to‑day operations. Health & Safety Clear ownership of health & safety across the organisation. Scope to influence standards at a strategic level, embed strong compliance, and drive continuous improvement that keeps people safe and supported. Supplier and property management A central role in shaping how Opencast works with its workplace and property partners. Ensuring high‑quality services, strong value for money and well‑managed hubs and external spaces. Standards, governance and assurance The chance to embed clear, consistent ways of working by ensuring workplace activity aligns with Opencast’s quality, environmental and information security policies and procedures. Budget responsibility Real influence over workplace‑related budgets, balancing cost control with quality and sustainability, in partnership with Finance. Leadership and collaboration A visible leadership role connecting teams and functions. Supporting and developing the workplace team. Acting as a trusted operational partner across the business.   What we're looking for   Experience that would support success in this role includes: Workplace or facilities operations experience, ideally across more than one location Good working knowledge of health & safety legislation and compliance A practical, reliable approach to operational delivery Experience managing suppliers and service performance Budget management and cost control Confident communication and people management skills IOSH Managing Safely qualification, or willingness to work towards it   Why Opencast? Flexible hours and 25 days' holiday. People to support you every step of the way.      Where you’ll work    Because of the nature of this role, you'll work will primarily be full time at our wonderful office in Hoults Yard, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
