Am I eligible to take part?
Opencast’s work experience placements are aimed at school or college pupils (currently studying in years 11-13) and adults aged 18+ who are looking for work experience or wanting to make a career move into the technology sector.
When do experience placements take place?
Work experience placements happen throughout the year.
The next placements for adults and young people will take place in 2025.
Where does the programme take place?
All work experience placements are based at Opencast’s Newcastle HQ. We are unable to offer placements remotely.
We only encourage you to apply if you are able to commute to our office for the full duration of the placement.
How long does the placement last?
Work experience placements are two or five days (Monday to Friday), 9.00am-4.00pm.
You will be given a schedule with timings before starting your placement.
How many other people will be doing the placement alongside me?
We aim to have 8 people in each work experience placement cohort.
Do you run any internships or apprenticeships?
We do not currently offer internships or apprenticeships.
Will there be an opportunity to continue to work with Opencast once I have completed the placement?
This placement is an opportunity to support your learning and development and does not guarantee a job at Opencast. The placement offers you the tools and opportunities to expand your network to aid your journey into any desired field.
