To maintain our culture as we grow, Opencast has created a ‘good team work’ model, allowing all of our people to share in the success that growth brings, as well as benefitting wider society.
Our people team, led by chief people officer Cate Kalson, has grown from eight to over 20, reflecting our growth and continuing determination to put our people first. The people team covers culture and learning, recruitment and planning & capacity.
In late 2021, we took big step forward in its commitment to provide the best support for our people – with a new team of people experience partners (PEEPs) ready to ensure that everyone in the business has someone advocating for their needs.
Opencast’s people experience lead Cameron Smith said: "We are thrilled to have been shortlisted in not one but three categories of these prestigious awards. This is a result and testimony to the amazing people team at Opencast. Congratulations to all our team to and to all of the other finalists.
“We're not finished just yet as there is loads more to come, but we're pleased to have been recognised at this point in our journey. We cannot wait to attend the awards at the end of June.”
Winners of the 2022 awards are unveiled at a black tie celebration event on 30 June at The Fed in Gateshead.
Opencast is also the official sponsor of the excellence in inclusivity & diversity category at the same awards. Finalists in that category are Newcastle University, Northumberland County Council and Northumbrian Water Group.
