The role  
 
We’re looking for a Head of Bids to support the company’s growth by leading the end-to-end bid process, ensuring the development and submission of high-quality, winning proposals. This strategic leadership position requires exceptional communication and team management skills. You’ll need to collaborate with cross-functional technical and account teams to execute compelling bid strategies, manage resources efficiently, and optimise the bid process to achieve successful outcomes.  

Essential experience: 
 
• Leading and motivating a high-performing bid management team.  
• Working in a bid management or related role, with a successful track record of winning bids.  
• In-depth knowledge of bid processes, best practices, and industry standards.  
• Exceptional organisational and time management skills 
 
You’ll need a good understanding of:  
 
• The entire bid lifecycle from identification and qualification to submission and post-submission activities. 
• Implementing and enhancing bid management processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. 
• Monitoring and reporting on key bid performance metrics to senior management. 
• Ensuring the production of high-quality, compliant, and compelling bid documents. 
• Conducting reviews and audits of bid submissions to identify areas for improvement. 
 
Other essential skills: 
 
• Can collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business development, marketing, finance, and technical teams, to gather relevant information and insights for bids. 
• Confident in operating with external partners, subcontractors, and clients to enhance bid competitiveness. 
• Can provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment. 
• Have effective communication and coordination between team members and other parts of the organisation involved in the bid process. 
• Can identify training needs within the bid management team and implement programs to enhance skills. 
 
Other helpful experience: 
 
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and trends in bid management.  

Salary:

Salary range £70,000 - £90,000
