Head of Architecture
We are looking to appoint a new Head of Architecture to join Opencast Software. Opencast specialises in developing end-to-end enterprise solutions for Government, financial services, health and social care, and renewable energy sectors. We work with UK and global businesses to solve their complex problems such as: how to improve the accuracy of prescription drug information for the country’s pharmacies; making the UK tax system easier to navigate, or organising data from every wind farm in the UK.

We are looking for someone who is as passionate as we are about tech; keeping a breadth of new emerging technologies and bringing innovative ideas that can enable our client needs, whilst strengthening our internal knowledge, skills, and capability.
You will have accountability and autonomy to lead, build and establish our architecture function, an important service that offers strong architecture consultancy and delivery capability on a wide range of tech topics with our high-profile clients.
The ability to strongly lead and build a team of technologists, whilst also delivering an outstanding service to our clients, in what is a rapidly changing landscape is essential to this position.
You'll suit this role if you:
have a strong background working in enterprise and technical architecture design and leadershipare experienced in delivering outcomes to clients and providing architectural consultancy from pre-sales through to deliveryhave the ability to motivate, lead, and/or establish an architecture service in a fast-paced, forward-thinking innovative environment whilst ensuring the best use of available talent and capacityhave strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management with the ability to influence, advise and consult at all levelsare able to work at a senior level both internally and with clientshave in-depth knowledge of industry best practices, architectures, established and emerging technologieshave a strong software development/applications backgroundare experienced in defining standards, patterns, building blocks within an architectural frameworkare able to deliver in an Agile environmenthave in-depth knowledge and experience of the IT services marketplace and the challenges facing customers
Experience working within central government or Financial sectorsTOGAF or similar architectural governance experience/certificationExperience of working within a technology consultancy organisationCloud, AWS, Azure, Serverless, IaaS, SaaS, Digital Delivery, Microservices, Event Driven Architecture, Data Driven Architecture

Where you’ll work
At Opencast we trust our people to make the right decisions. You may work remotely from home or, depending on your project, you may be required to occasionally work at a client site or your nearest Opencast office.
Interviews take place over Microsoft Teams. If that doesn’t work for you, we’ll do everything we can to support and make any necessary adjustments. We want to ensure everyone has the best possible interview experience.
