David is a technology leader, responsible for scaling Opencast's software delivery capability to meet the needs of our rapidly increasingly number of great clients. He forms high-performing teams of professionals to create accessible digital services for both public and private sectors. He enables our consultants to agree best practice principles and evolve them as the industry continues to move forward at incredible pace. David loves programming (in most languages) and is a signatory of the agile and software craftsmanship manifestos. He is dedicated to writing clean and extensible code using test-driven development. David is the organiser of FP North East, the region’s largest meet up dedicated to functional programming and is proud to be a STEM ambassador, guest university lecturer and a trustee of the Tech For Kids charity, running digital maker parties for 6-16 year olds.
